Yeah, by now I’m definitely not doing these things in order.

But I’ll do day 23 today, 8 ways to win my heart. :)

Let’s start simple.

1. Don’t hate me.

No, seriously. Don’t even joke about hating me around me unless you really mean it. I’m a vulnerable person and I want to be loved. If I love you, I don’t want you to tell me you hate me or hate the way I look or do something. Oh yeah, and don’t call me stupid. Best way to win my heart is not to say those two things.

2. Do little things that I can’t ask for

I don’t expect anyone to read my mind here, but you know those little things you always wished someone would do for you? Like holding open the door, giving you a piggy back ride, or pulling me to sit in your lap. The things I always wished someone would care enough about me to do it for me, but no one has because they don’t care enough yet.

3. Buy me things. Or pick up garbage off the ground.

I’M NOT MATERIALISTIC WHEN I SAY THIS. I love it when someone picks up a bag of reese’s pieces because they saw them on the way home and thought of me. Hell, you don’t even have to buy something, really. You could pick up the newspaper from someone else’s lawn and bring that to me. You could bring me coupons. You could give me dead grass (as long as you don’t accompany it with a note saying that’s what our relationship is like…)
All I really want are little things that remind me of you when you’re away that you gave to me. Things that you got especially for me.

4. Remember everything.

Lol, not everything actually. I don’t remember some things. I don’t remember a lot of things. But, what I’m saying is remember the important things, like year anniversaries, my birthday, your birthday, or things like that. You don’t have to remember every single important date. I don’t care if you can’t remember when my mother was born, as long as you don’t forget about me at the restaurant for our date.

5. Be a little jealous.

I know jealousy isn’t a good thing, but I like to know that you care about me and being a little jealous when some other guy is flirting with me, or being a little possessive around me when I’m with close guy friends, just to remind them that I’m yours, is what I ask for. And I’ll be a little jealous for you too. Maybe a lot jealous if it’s a really hot girl who’s flirting with you, but whatever.

6. Talk to me. And be silent.

I like to have quiet time sometimes. I don’t want to have to feel awkward when I want to be quiet for a bit. Sometimes I don’t want to talk, and I’ll want you to talk. Please talk. I like it when you talk to me. :) And contrary to that, I also need you to talk to me. Tell me something funny, weird, unexpected, or just plain boring shit that happened to you in the day. I like to hear what you’re up to.

7. Smell nice.

I love being able to wear your sweatshirt (when it’s not five hundred degrees out) or being able to smell you in the room or on my things even when you’re gone. You don’t have to smell super super awesome, but just not BO all the time. Because I like having little reminders of you when you’re not around.

8. Do random shit with me and not be embarressed.

I do lots of random shit very often, so when I do random shit, please go along with it. Climb the tree with me. Sit on the air conditioner. Throw beach balls at me. Whatever it is, just do it. And maybe you have crazy things you want to do. Do them, and chances are I’ll go along with it.
